Design Thinking for Origin Coffee Roastery in Helston

Interior designers, Anna Hart Design have completed the design and fit out of the Origin Coffee Roastery in Helston, Cornwall.

AHD strives to design spaces for people that are individual, functional and imaginative. They were commissioned by Origin to bring design thinking to the fit out of their new purpose-built roastery.

“Origin Coffee has a strong brand graphically” says Anna Hart, principle of AHD “and our aim was to reflect this in the physical space. Our approach reflects an understanding that design must support the operations of the business but also bring to life a visual identity that reflects the product offer and the company’s passion for their work.”

AHD have created a work place that supports team working and communication for business operations coupled with the meeting spaces and a flexible training room where Origin can teach their wholesale customers all about coffee, origins, farms, growers and barista skills.

“An office move is a big investment for any company but working with Collective Studio brought fresh thinking with how we should best utilise the space.” says Origin founder Tom Sobey “it has ensured the fit out adds value, supporting the way we work, as well as reflecting our brand aesthetically”

The design has an energetic look and feel, mixing raw materials with graphic use of block colour. Bespoke furniture was designed to make the best use of space mixed in with reclaimed furniture and lighting.
